A paradise of aromatic and medicinal plants awaits you in Rossinière.
Located at 1'350 meters above sea level above Rossinière, the Jardin des Monts can only be accessed on foot. But the trip is well worth the effort. At the end of a half-hour walk, the bright colours of the garden suddenly appear at the edge of a grove of trees. The small cultivated plots are laid out on old terraces, supported by dry stone walls. Behind them, on the mountainside, is a superb 18th century chalet which has been entirely renovated: "Noah's Ark", as the villagers call it.
Organic growing and harvesting by hand
Aromatic and medicinal plants are the order of the day in the Jardin des Monts. Since 2009, Charlotte Landolt, the garden manager, has put her heart into planting, sowing, weeding and picking lemon balm, cornflower, mallow, lemon thyme and chamomile. Thirty different species of plants are grown on the 2,000 m2 of available land, which are subsequently transformed, with passion and expertise, into syrups, infusions, massage oils and cosmetics containing an explosion of scents and powerful properties. Working under the auspices of Le Bourgeon, the products are guaranteed free of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.
